CLARESHOLM, Alberta -- Stop number one of the 2017 ABBI Canada schedule is in the books and a familiar name topped the score sheet.
Elnora's Flying High Rodeo Co. placed first and fourth earning $4,950 with bulls branded C93 and C43. Second on the evening went to Hy-Kik Ranch's 578 for $2,590. A pair of Saskatchewan bulls from the K Rose Ranch, 550 Red Rocker and 509 Uncle Tim were third and sixth for $2,700 and announcer Nate Gardner and son, Bo's #53 took fifth for $1,100.
Thirty two year-old bucking bulls from Alberta and Saskatchewan competed on Friday night at the Claresholm Agriplex kicking off the fourth edition of the Chad Besplug Invitational presented by Alpha Bull Events.
Round one: 1. Flying High Rodeo Co.'s C93, 85.75 points, $3,710; 2. Hy-Kik Ranch's 578, 85.25, $2,590; 3. K Rose Ranch's 550 Red Rocker, 85, $1,800; 4. Flying High Rodeo Co.'s C43, 84.5, $1,240; 5. Rafter G's 53, 83.75, $1,110; 6. K Rose Ranch's 509 Uncle Tim, 83.5, $900.
Next up on the 2017 ABBI Canada Schedule is stop number two in Marwayne, AB on April 7th for a two year old bucking bull futurity. Books open March 20th and close on March 24th via the ABBI office
