97 Bulls to Compete in ABBI’s new 2018 Two-Year-Old Futurity Series

More than $320K to be paid out in Bordertown finale

Pueblo, CO (Feb. 1, 2018) – 97 ABBI Futurity Bulls are confirmed to compete in the new 2018 Two-year-old Futurity Series.

“We would like to thank every ABBI Stock Contractor that has entered to participate in this newly added Futurity Series,” said Executive Director Jay Daugherty. “ABBI is looking forward to awarding the top bulls in this series with the highest payout a Futurity competition has seen outside the American Heritage in quite some time.”

More than $320,000 will be paid out In June during the finale event held at the Bordertown Casino & Arena, with first place earning $40,740. The Top 10 spots will be paid out in both the Money winner Finale Payout and the Non-Money Winner Finale Payout.

 

The Money Winner Finale Payout totals $145,500:

1st - $40,740

3rd - $17,460

8th - $7,275

4th - $14,550

Beginning at the first event in Stephenville, Texas, on March 24, the regular Futurity first-place winner will earn a minimum of $11,000 and the side pot will offer over $7,000 to the first-place winner. The second event is on April 14 in Bryan, Texas, and the third event will be in Duncan, Oklahoma, on April 28. To qualify for the Finale, all bulls are required to compete at all three events.

2018 Futurity AND Yearling Series ground rules: 

  • Yearling total entry fees - $1,500
    • Side Pot Fees $300
  • Futurity total entry fees - $3,000
    • Side Pot Fees $300
  • Once you have committed to a spot you are obligated for the entire payment regardless of injury or if the bull has deceased. Once the bulls have been named there will be no changes or substitutes.  If a bull is injured and cannot compete at any of the designated stops you are still required to pay the $300 side pot fee to keep the pot whole. You will also not be eligible for the non-winner pot at the finale if the bull is able to then compete regardless of your placing at any of the events and the bull will have to compete in the winner pot during the finale.
    • 1st payment of $1,500 is due by February 28th
    • Calves must be named and to the office by March 2nd
    • 2nd payment of $1,500 is due by May 31st
